At the beginning of the pandemic when isolation was our only lifeline I was hiking the great outdoors in Northern New Mexico with a friend.  Off in the distance among all the greenery, my eyes settled upon a spot of white.  As we neared, the white spot grew in size until we were face-to-face with the full intact remains of a deer.  Each animal has its own distinct markings from the skull’s crown to the tip of the jaw, as do other skeletal parts (antlers, vertebrae).  I closed my eyes and in some unknown experience grasped a connection.  It was then that I understood the intensity of this once wild creature of nature gifting me the opportunity to bring them back to another reality — making them
